Julie is an independent contractor for Pinnacle. She serves as Appointed Actuary and Loss Reserve Specialist for insurance companies, captive insurers, segregated accounts and self-insured entities domiciled in Bermuda, Canada and the United States. She also advises organizations considering the formation of new captive insurance companies and prepares captive feasibility studies. In addition, Julie works with a range of reinsurers, providing expertise in the structuring, pricing and analysis of reinsurance transactions.
Julie has extensive experience in a broad range of actuarial assignments, including loss reserving, funding studies, loss cost projections, captive feasibility studies, stochastic modelling, retention optimization, financial projections and reinsurance pricing. She is well-versed in the captive insurance legislation of several jurisdictions, including Alberta and Bermuda.
Julie also has significant experience preparing actuarial analyses and reports under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) framework. Julie is the former owner of Ordinance, a Bermuda-based actuarial consulting firm that was acquired by Pinnacle in June 2026.
She spent nearly 15 years in Bermuda, where she built extensive experience in the reinsurance industry. Julie is now based in Canada and continues to serve clients across Bermuda, Canada and the United States.
